Privacy and security on secure sites such as banks is pretty good.

However when it comes to social networks, the basic principle is “User Beware”. When you lodge personal information on these sites, it is not only able to viewed and collected by others, it can be mis-used.

People have been divorced and have lost their jobs from items they have posted. In fact, there was a recent news article about a woman that found out her husband had married someone else bigamously when she looked at her Facebook page and saw the wedding photos.

So it is best to be cautious about where our personal details are lodged and where they can be viewed by all and sundry.
