How to photograph myself for the internet but still maintain privacy and anonymity?

Question by Inquisitor: How to photograph myself for the internet but still maintain privacy and anonymity?
I belong to website that allows you to post a picture of yourself that is posted next to each of your entries and in your public profile. I would like to upload on the site because I hate having no image there, BUT I am not too thrilled about people being able to recognize me if they knew me. What are your ideas for getting around this?

Use your Yahoo! avatar (the one next to your post here). Seems to make sense to me.

If you need a bigger picture, just use one of the many, many avatar creating websites out there. That way you can show people kind of what you look like without it being recognizable.

That Eye Icon Thing, it’s helpful because it displays the URL of which ever link you put the mouse pointer over. Actually how do you make that whole bar appear, with the Eye and the Globe? Because my internet explorer there is nothing on the bottom of the window, THX!

If you want to see the bar along the bottom, you need to enable the Status Bar. Do this by going to View menu -> Status Bar. When Status Bar has a check by it then it’s enabled.

The Status Bar will allow you to see the url of any link you hover your mouse over.

I like to use Safari because it has Private Browsing which makes your sites not record on the history. Also proxy works.
